snoo

Something about snow makes me want to bake cookies.

I do it whenever there's a snowstorm--one of my instincts when getting home out in a blizzard is to stop by a 7-11 for chocolate chips and extra ingredients. I don't know why I have this instinct, but I embrace it.

Today, I don't have the time to bake them from scratch. But I do have the time to run to the corner store and get a log of the insta-dough, along with milk and cocoa with mini marshmallows. And in about ten minutes, I'm going to have cookies while the snow comes down and the exams get graded. I may not be ready for winter, but this isn't a bad way to start it.

That sounds absolutely lovely.

I'm about to bake a cake for a friend's birthday tomorrow, and I'm sort of very happy that there's no snow here just yet. But snow and cookies sounds lovely.

We had snow Friday morning, but it took me till Sunday to get around to baking the cookies. One good excuse for baking in our house is that we keep the thermostat set really low--but the oven makes the kitchen nice and warm! And then you get cookies!
