We're Crazy Gary Oldman!

Some time ago, sibling [livejournal.com profile] stealthmuffin and [livejournal.com profile] thomascantor invited us to spend an evening with them at the Skellig in Waltham, partaking of Pub Quiz night. After some schedule-arranging and whatnot, we were able to join them last night.

It was cooool. Besides tasty nachos and a Magner's cider, besides the company of the four of us just chilling over drinks, there was a fun trivia-esque atmosphere. Simple but hard questions (dammit, what medal did Ireland get?), a reward for entering the funniest wrong answer, and suchlike.

We played to win. (Those of you who play Trivia will know how long it's been since I've done that.)

And we placed second! Our team, "Crazy Gary Oldman", was presented with four beverage wrenches and the people's ovation.

A great evening. And one I'd care to do again, in this pub or another.

Ahh, Skellig. One-time favorite hangout of the Danger-planet crowd, and a 10 minute walk from my house. Never been to Trivia Night, but... bangers and mash... what more need be said?

What do you think inspired our team name?

Q: Ireland got only one gold medal in the Olympics this year. What was it?

A (real): Equestrian Show Jumping
A (ours): Synchronized Drinking

Our team, "Crazy Gary Oldman", was presented with four beverage wrenches

That was more interesting when I read it as "four beverage wenches."
