ambitions, meet limits. limits, meet ambitions.

Dear Berkshire Inhabitants,

It looks like my trip up to the Williamstown area is going to have to wait. Between a $90 round-trip ticket and a midterm on Monday morning, I seem to have run into some limitations. Perhaps a day during January, after my papers have been handed in...

Sorry to hear, but glad you're not going to be stretching yourself too thin. Take care, and looking forward to seeing you when you get here.

$90? I just heard amtrak can get you to Pittsfield for $20 each way.

But then you're in Pittsfield. Also, that sounds awfully low for the train....trains are much more expensive than they should be....

But the man speaks the truth. There is a train between Albany and Boston, and you can get to Pittsfield (but can't check or uncheck bags at that station) for $16 each way.

There's even a snack car!

Yeah...It's a matter of coordinating train/bus schedule (there's a serious lag time), other transit, and time away from work...all of which put a little too much on my midterm brain.
"...but I am le tired."

You should check and make sure that train doesn't need to come from the west, because trains there are infinitely late as a matter of course. Last time I had a train from Pittsfield to DC, it was delayed by 4 hours. Luckily, after an hour I had decided to walk to the bus station, take a bus to Springfield, and made my connecting train by five minutes.

Yo mama so fat, when she's delayed by four hours she still pulls in on time.

Yo mama so fat, she's the Amtrak hub for the Northeast region.

Yo mama so fat, she has trouble reading train schedules, seeing how she doesn't fit in just one time zone.

Yo mama so fat, if you try to book passage from one end of her to the other, you need to switch trains five times.

True...my train out of Pittsfield to Boston was once about 4 hours late as well.
