Some time ago, sibling [livejournal.com profile] stealthmuffin and [livejournal.com profile] thomascantor invited us to spend an evening with them at the Skellig in Waltham, partaking of Pub Quiz night. After some schedule-arranging and whatnot, we were able to join them last night.

It was cooool. Besides tasty nachos and a Magner's cider, besides the company of the four of us just chilling over drinks, there was a fun trivia-esque atmosphere. Simple but hard questions (dammit, what medal did Ireland get?), a reward for entering the funniest wrong answer, and suchlike.

We played to win. (Those of you who play Trivia will know how long it's been since I've done that.)

And we placed second! Our team, "Crazy Gary Oldman", was presented with four beverage wrenches and the people's ovation.

A great evening. And one I'd care to do again, in this pub or another.

1. Apply to graduate school... In process. Checklist of what-I-need is up, and I'm brainstorming recommendation letters now.

11. Finish sibling and cousin quilts... Also in process. [livejournal.com profile] sal_sal's has half the blocks done; Maria's has about 27 out of 64.

10. Get in touch with two old friends... Frankly, [livejournal.com profile] cmprince did this one for me. And it was wonderful to see him. Now I just have to *keep* in touch!

9. Finish reading the Bible. Still going. Halfway through Jeremiah.

20. Take a weaving course. Signed up for it. Happening in October.

26. Knit a scarf. Got about 16 inches done so far...

27. Read these books... Working on Gandhi's Autobiography right now!

57. Join Friends of the Allston BPL. I'll be stopping by there today.

65. Make a list of birthdays... Getting there. I now have about 30 on the list; thankfully, September birthdays seem to be clumped at the end of the month, thus giving me some time to prepare.

70. Become knowledgeable about local politics... There's a state primary on the 14th. I looked up my ballot and the competing candidates, and have an idea about who would be best suited. Cool.

That's it so far!
