Revising is easy, now that I have sparkly gel pens.

There are cartoon mice running around in my brain, but that's okay. Two papers are done and turned in.

This leaves:

On May 8:
German final exam; getting a High Pass means never doing German again, even in PhD study.

Due May 12:
1 take-home final of around 7 pages (topics taken from a list of questions)

Due May 19:
1 15-page paper (topic: Perception of the physical world as related to benevolence in Dorothy Day and Gandhi)
1 25-page paper (topic: Pale Fire's style of reading/misreading as a theological argument)

I've discovered that my writing style has changed substantially over the last year. I used to agonize, outline extensively, then do one long writing session, spellcheck and done. This resulted in "conventionally acceptable bullshit," to use a phrase a friend of mine likes. Now, I agonize, outline extensively, then write in short 1000-word bouts, not deleting and never going back to correct structure till it's done, when I go back and revise heavily. I think of it as "throwing chunks of words at each other, then chopping away the crap."

Yeah, I can do this. Thanks for your support and kind words, and expect more of these random progress posts. And more of sparkly gel pens. (Not sparkly gel penises.) Time to start with the essay maps and the research summary...tomorrow morning. Tonight I believe I have a date with Harvest Moon; my cow Gorblat and my sheep Puffy need attention.
