Every Friday I am exhausted by a straight day of teaching and classes. Today, while it included one class at the MFA (which was fun if poorly attended), was just as exhausting. Fooey. I like teaching but it wears me out.

Which explains the quickie margarita I just had. (Polar Orange Dry plus tequila counts as some bastard cousin of margaritas, right?) I'm way behind on my work for the end of the semester, and come Monday I'll have a stack of 50 papers to grade. I also just learned that I'm really going to have to crank on my exams--they have to be done by the end of the spring if I'm going to keep this committee. Earlier in the week was my break, my "screw it, I'm playing DDS" night, and my "screw it, I'll read my Yuletide context" night. Now I don't have the time for the excuses...

On the other hand...

We're hosting Thanksgiving, in a good way, for a small batch of DaManfamily who will rock out and eat turkey with us.

I'm going to see Jonathan Coulton tonight. And Paul and Storm, who are an awesome opener/accompaniment!

My twin gave me a cd of utterly awesome music with fabulous faux-titles.

I like the topics I'm writing on.

It's the birthday of two wonderful people, [livejournal.com profile] cute_fuzzy_evil and [livejournal.com profile] nadyezhda.

We have a new niece who is round and pink and perfect.

I have good friends and a good home and warmth and food and shelter.

So on the whole? Despite being exhausted, I'm pretty damn happy. And therefore, I invite you to enjoy jetpacks and steampunk and dirigibles.
