mroaawwww!

Yesterday morning, around about the time when she usually is jumping on my chest and racing around the house, the Oob started making weird noises. I got up, grabbed the squirt bottle, and headed for the living room, certain that this was a new adaptation to my ability to sleep through things.

Nope. Oob was pressed flat on the floor, huffing and chuffing and wheezing, and there was blood all over the left side of her mouth. We comforted her, calmed her down, coaxed her back out from behind the couch, and stayed with her for the next few hours. She seemed to recover fairly quickly from whatever it was she'd done/eaten, and was nuzzling against DaMan when he left for work.

A panicky call to laobscuridad, followed by a vet visit this morning, were reassuring but ultimately, we don't know what happened. She's not missing any teeth or claws, and she's happy again. And she's going in for teeth cleaning sometime soon.

Looking at her now, it's as if nothing ever happened; she's a little clingier, a little louder--though that might be the vet visit aftereffects--and no sign that anything was wrong. I wish our small thing could tell us what happened, but I don't think we'll ever know.

Other than that, it was a lovely week. You?
