[livejournal.com profile] sen_no_ongaku and I will be heading towards the Berkshires this weekend, y'all! What can we bring you from Botolph's Stone? (No, really--that's the etymology of Boston.)

Oh yes, and I will be reporting my weaving teacher, as per my last post. You might teach all over the country; that just means all of the country gets to experience your suckage and bigotry. Foo.

Hey [livejournal.com profile] cmprince--I got your postcards! They made me feel warm and fuzzy, like smothering in fleece. Um. Not really. Warm and fuzzy like a hot buttered rum.

Botolph

So what does Botolph mean? Where does it come from? What is it? Wow, interesting.

Botolph was a proper name. There's a St. Botolph and a Botolphs-town (you can see how you get to Boston there) in England. That's about the extent of my knowledge.

Ahhh, historical linguistics. I have lots of random knowledge from that class.

Will you still be here on monday? We'll be out of town (up in NH for a fall foliage festival) for most of it, probably returning sunday afternoon/evening/night. Actually, if you want a place to stay you're welcome to our house as long as you'll feed the cats...

Sadly, no--we'll be returning to B'ton late Sunday night, in order to spend Columbus day weaving and suchlike. How're the qats?

A tin of Lapsang Souchong tea from Tealuxe? Nobody here is selling Lapsang Souchong anymore; it's a travesty. What's fall without the smoky scent of tea?

that sounds good

I haven't had a cup of lapsang souchong since last fall. It does seem appropriate, even if we don't burn our leaves in this section of the country.

Umm...you know, that epithet for Wisconsin? The one that isn't true but is a lot of fun to say?

Okay, I give. The assfuckingest state in the union. That's what kind of Wisconsin pirate I am not.
